Judith Nolfo McKenna is a 1992 graduate of Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, New York. She was admitted to practice in New York in 1993. Judith has extensive experience both in the private and public legal sectors. In 2000, the Law Office of Judith Nolfo McKenna was opened.With her accounting background, Jude was drawn to the practice area of Estate Planning and Elder Law. In the last few years, after observing the benefits of mediation in family law, she discovered mediation of cases involving estate and elder issues would be an important component of this area of law. The offices focus on meeting every individual and family, and custom drafting of each document. In the initial consultation, clients discuss their wishes for their future and their family’s future.
Jude is very active in the legal community, and is currently serving as the Co-Editor in Chief of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Journal, and serves as the Vice Chair of the Estates, Trusts and Taxation Committee, and as a member of the Mediation Committee and the Elder Abuse Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law and Special Needs Section. She is also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and the Trusts and Estates Section. She lectures at various legal forums throughout the state, and is involved with many Pro Bono legal events in New York, including Pro Bono Legal Clinics for Veterans, Senior Citizens and individuals with special needs.
Jude volunteers as a Mediator at Mediation Matters in Albany, and is the community legal partner for Albany Law School’s Anti-Human Trafficking project. Jude is also a member of the Albany County Bar Association. Judith is also involved with and supports Peppertree Rescue, a local rescue organization that rescues dogs from shelters, fosters animals and arranges adoptions. Because of Peppertree, Layla, a Lab/Beagle mix with a heart of gold, found Jude, her forever friend.
